LMD x Riverside Art Museum (RAM)

LMD kicked off this new year with a new look for the Riverside Arts Museum (RAM) newsletter. In an effort to out-reach their new and returning members, RAM wanted to create a seasonal newsletter campaign that would stand out from any other direct mail piece. Utilizing a range of color palettes, we created a design that was infused with vibrancy, and inspired by colors of the seasons. We not only had the pleasure of working with the RAM team, but we also got a sneak peek of the interesting exhibits and activities to come!

LMD x The Chop House Barber Shop

Projects that involve up and coming entrepreneurs, and small business always have a special place at LMD. The Chop House Barbershop’s (TCH) owner and family entrusted us with creating a logo that could carry out their vision with style and flare. Being able to be part of the first stages of what could become a flourishing, successful venture always makes us proud. LMD x MAMBA Special Edition T

Los Angeles-based graphic design duo Land Mind Design, LMD, captures the excitement of this years basketball season through their special edition T-shirt of the Lakers’ iconic shooting guard the “Black Mamba” (Kobe Bryant).

“With this season being Kobe’s possible last, we want to make sure that Lakers fans have access to great artwork to mark the events that this season will bring,” said Mauricio Urquilla, co-founder of LMD.
 
The exclusive apparel will feature the celebrated athlete in a heroic graphical composition, dynamically surrounded by a powerful and menacing black mamba snake, a fresh new image that will invigorate today’s style.

“Having grown up in Los Angeles, one of our goals has been to supply the city with original and creative design, something that Angelenos can be proud of”; said Leslie De Leon, co-founder of LMD.

LOS ANGELES VALLEY COLLEGE (LAVC) - MASCOT REVAMP

The client sought out LMD to find a new approach to their mascot: The Monarch Lion.

After thorough research in sport mascot design and illustration, we wanted to make sure that the mascot successfully represented the college fiercely.

We created a mark that showcases the powerful characteristics of a lion but most importantly we made sure that this illustration would work conjunctively with the LAVC main logo and brand.

The new mark is now used in different collateral and LAVC social media outlets.

Special Edition LMDxMamba Print

In honor of the efforts made by the Los Angeles Lakers and one of LA’s finest athletes, Kobe Bryant, LMD created 24 Special Edition Prints featuring the Black Mamba.
The print details a custom illustration of Bryant surrounded by a threatening Black Mamba. An eclectic arrangement of typography was used as a background texture for the graphic. The print has been design in two color palettes, gold and purple. The design has been printed 11x17” on HD Digital Print, 80 lb Bright Brilliant, F.C.S paper.

LMD™ Jano Graphics Ad

Jano Graphics, a printing company based of the west coast, approached LMD in need of an advert that would not only communicate their quality printing services and brand but also appeal to a diverse audience.

LMD’s solution for this printing company was to highlight their services though imagery. We took the opportunity to get to know more about this printing company and their team by having a photo shoot of their headquarters, this allowed for the imagery to truly represent the uniqueness of this business. We added graphical elements, the talking bubbles, to host wording that describe the business and we infused the imagery and graphics with vibrant colors to demonstrate the color quality that Jano Graphics provides.

The overall theme of the updated piece was to demonstrate the customer’s impression of Jano Graphics and to highlight their quality printing services.

LMD™ AP University - SEO Newsletter

For issue #4 of their newsletter magazine, The School of Education (SOE) wanted to take the opportunity to revamp the look of their overall magazine.

LMD’s process consisted on focusing mainly on simplicity. We started by shedding all of the overly decorative graphics and we continued by brining more focus to the photography and type. We strategically placed SOE’s color palette all throughout the magazine to highlight the school’s brand.

By utilizing these methods we were able to transition the look of the magazine into a more sophisticated pubplication.

LMD™ Alpha Pro Lean

For this particular project the client sought to obtain an identity that could dynamically represent his weight loss supplement product.

After studying the competitive visuals on the market, LMD’s approach was to create an identity that conveyed the idea of energy and movement. We were able to achieve this look by transforming the first character of the word “Alpha”, the A, into a dynamic shape. This shape was paired up with a legible typeface, which allows for the product name to stand out.

To create a greater brand presence, the identity, icon and color palette were constantly applied to packaging and web.

LMD™ Urbanista Identity

When LMD was approached by our client, an online blogger, she presented us with a challenge that would push, inspired, and motivate us to think outside the box.

The goal was to create a mark for her growing blog that would represent the many faces and topics that were featured, including music, art, fashion, and other artists. It was clear that the logo had to be a strong mark, vibrant, eclectic, and memorable. Working closely with the client, she was able to provide deep insight with some sketching she had carried with her from some time.

The final identity was inspired by similarities found in stained glass art work. The fusion of a variety of colors and shapes placed in an orderly chaotic way, allowed us to symbolically represent the diverse topics of her blog. In addition by matching the colorful iconic mark with a legible typeface, we successfully introduced a very clean and memorable mark.

LMD™ Design Inspired Sugar Skull

LMD is happy to share with you one of our freshest creative projects, in celebration of Dia De Los Muertos, The graphic design inspired ‘LMD Sugar Skull’ comes from our love for CMYK, Graphic Arts and Cultura. We wanted to create a sugar skull like no other, incorporating elements that are near and dear to us. If you look closely you can find our appreciation for our every day design tools! The end result is a clever mix of elements coming together to form this pop re-interpretation of the classic Sugar Skull.
